The new shift now takes the center line EAST of Biloxi near Pascagoula meaning the brunt of the storm will be from Gulfport eastward. NHC has extended hurricane warnings to Navarre Beach. My neighbors are in a small condo group in Perdido Key right on the beach and I have suggested they get back into their car and head east of Panama City to spend the night. A Cat. 2 is no animal to mess with. Hope they heed my advice?
Hurricane Sally's inner core has become well defined and there is still some time for it to reach a Cat. 3 (it might already be that as Zack Fradella just showed an oil rig near the center at 117 mph!) before up welling of cooler water, eye wall replacement cycle & wind shear starts to weaken the system. Radar confirms Sally is still heavily weighted on her north and east sides.
The only thing that still "makes me nervous" is Sally's slow forward motion. Everything else suggests this will be a Mississippi/Alabama & Florida storm with the worst from Biloxi eastward to Destin.
The storm surge predictions have yet to be lowered for us and the northerly winds are piling the higher water levels on the south side of Lake P. I do like seeing our wind direction more northerly telling me Sally will head to our east. So the bottom line is this. RIGHT NOW, IF the center line track proves reality, SE LA. will see very little impacts (other than high water outside the levees) with rainfall maybe an inch if we get a stray outer band/Squall. Once east of the Pearl River to Gulfport, down in Palquemines and eastern St. Bernard winds will gust to 40-60+ mph. From Biloxi to the east, you could get into the eye wall with winds of 100+. As I mentioned before, we can relax, BUT not consider the all danger is over as Hurricanes can do strange things. Let's keep watching and hoping the computer models are correct for us. Pray for our friends to our east as they have a long couple of days. Next update around 10 PM unless I see something bad. Stay tuned!

Bob I wanted to ask. What will make it turn more north? Seems like it will get close to Louisiana and then turn? Thank you
Mr. Breck, is there still a possibility with the slow movement of this storm, that it could jog a little back to the west and cause us in southeastern Louisiana to be concern again?
Thank you Bob!
Thank you Bob! The clarity is very much appreciated!
I have a bad feeling also...I pray I'm wrong.

Thank you Bob! I always look forward to your posts and Fox 8 is doing an amazing job. You should be proud!
"As I mentioned before, we can relax, BUT not consider the all danger is over as Hurricanes can do strange things." Thats Bob's actual words. Be Prepared 🌀
Thank you Bob!!!! I'll keep cheking your page, per usual!
We love you, Bob!
Thanks for your updates. I am following from Long Beach, MS (right before Gulfport).
Thank you Bob. I send your blog info to friends and family up north because they don't get good information on national news.

Bobby -- you are a doll and we all appreciate your time and effort devoted to keeping us informed! You are every bit as good as the late great Nash Roberts! Keep on kickin, Bobby!
Thanks Bob! Your posts have helped reduced my stress levels!
Thank you very much Bob! I’m working but I try to come back here as often as I can for your updates!
Hi Bob. Do you remember the game "Hi Bob?" My students from the 80's told me they used to play it.
If you could, address the water being pushed from northshore to south shore. Storm surge for Laplace, STILL OUTSIDE, levee protection. Thanks for your expert commentary.
why at 7 pm local news was 85.2W,and at fox8 was 87.2W
I have followed BB since NR passed quite some time ago. BB has been my go-to guy for many years. They've both been more accurate than any other Meteorologist that I know of. That being said,David Bernard who has been tutored by the master will be my next go-to guy when BB decides to retire.
