Still Not Zeta Yet & Not Moving...

The next Recon flight won't reach TD 28 until midnight and satellite views have indicated no real changes in intensity or movement.  NHC says it appears the center might have drifted slightly, but they keep forward motion as stationary.

The future center line track is similar to the 4 PM advisory with a slight shift back to the west (closer to us). The 4 PM center line was east of Gulfport with the 10 PM now near Slidell.   We'll have to see if that is a real trend during the day on Sunday.  Again, we want to see the center line track shift back farther to our east so we stay on the weaker side of soon to be Zeta.

This disturbance doesn't even reach the southern Gulf until Monday night so we'll have plenty of time and model runs to see if we need to be nervous.  I like what we have out over us tonight.

The northerly winds at 10-15 mph add a bit of a chill to our 50s & 60s temps.   This morning's cold front has pushed into the Gulf and the more cold air the better to help cool the warm waters.

More cold air is lurking up north with parts of Montana below zero...and it's only October!  Sunday and Monday should have that good feel air around before the muggies return on Tuesday.
Another snow storm is moving out of the Rockies tonight.  For most of the northern Plains, this is their snowiest October on record.

My middle son Ryan lives in Missoula, Montana and this is what he woke up to today.  Freshly fallen snow sure looks pretty, but in October?   Some of that cold up north will arrive here later next week.  Hopefully it can arrive soon enough to curve/turn Zeta farther to our east?  I'll update again Sunday morning.  Stay tuned!

So far the trend is our friend. The models keep shifting to West closer to us. Hopefully it will not go as far West as Delta. This is our last chance to get anything from tropic this season. It wouldn’t be any thing major, but it’s better than nothing!
