What a Glorious Feeling, I'm Happy Again...

One of my favorite movies & songs was "Singing in the Rain" with Gene Kelly.   Today we had no rain since we had few clouds, but the dry feeling behind a weak cool front made me "feel happy again!"  Those lower dew points will really make for cooler night time lows beginning tonight.

And the better news is a stronger front will arrive for Friday bringing out the sweaters & jackets for Friday night & Saturday.  Moisture will be very limited so no rain is expected with this front.
In fact, another cold front will plow through late Sunday into Monday keeping us dry & comfy cool.  Each front will help lower the water temps in the gulf and that is important as computer models in the 10-14 day time frame keep trying to develop something over the SE Gulf.

As you can see, IF a storm develops, a large high will block it from coming our way and turn it into south Florida.   The "Fat Lady" has sung meaning no more MAJOR tropical threats for us.  I don't even see any tropical systems coming near us.  the Gulf & Caribbean are all quiet.

NHC is highlighting an area east of the Islands.

Like most of you, I feel it we could only have October weather for 5-6 months of the year, more people would want to live here despite the annual hurricane threat.  But alas, October only lasts 31 days.  Stay tuned!

As of 8 PM the Hurricane Center says that “strong upper-level winds are expected to inhibit development for the next few days” for that area. They only give a 20% chance of development over the next five days.

Really, Fat Lady, how do you explain Delta? Fat Lady sung BEFORE that storm, but it still did its thing. Cooler water didn't stop that one. Cold fronts didn't stop it either. MJO didn't stop or inhibit Sally. Everything you said about these two storms was wrong, until you started talking about what was actually happening. Fact of the matter is, the storm is going to hit whenever and wherever it wants. God has nothing to do with it either. Why don't we just talk about what is ACTUALLY happening and not what we believe or want to happen. Talking about what is actually happening is far more useful than speculating on wishes and fairy tales.

Really? If Bob's thoughts and opinions bother you so much, quit following. None of this is an exact science. I could go on about each of your items, but life is too short.

If you don’t like what Bob has to say then leave and start your blog. Maybe you will get lucky and has one follower your mom

Bob could have been right in his forecasting. These factors play a role in strength and steering, but the issue with Bob is his overconfidence and not addressing his past mistakes head on. He just pretends they didn't happen. He was way too certain in what he predicted and failed to consider other factors like the warm waters in the Caribbean and lower gulf. Cooler waters do inhibit storms, but with a storm that organized, it wasn't enough. Though, keep in mind that the cooler waters did inhibit Delta to some degree. Though, it was upon landfall.

I'm not too concerned about the storm models are picking up on. They also turn the storm away from us.

Yes, none of this is an exact science, which is why some of us have an issue with the way Bob was so certain in his forecasting.

Don't do that. Discussions don't all need to be brown nosing. I think it's important for people to see dissenting views and for wrong actions and statements to be challenged.

I can't speak for everyone, but I don't hate Bob personally or think his input is completely useless. He can be wrong on some things and still offer something interesting to discuss or consider.
