Iota Following Zeta's Track...

Remember how SW Louisiana received 2 Hurricane hits (Laura, Delta) earlier this season.  It seems that's the trend this year.  The same places keep getting multiple hits and that includes us.  Tonight it's Nicaragua & Honduras that are under the gun...AGAIN.

The top graphic has the tracks of Zeta & Iota that are very close to each other.  The middle is the NHC future track with the bottom being the spaghetti models.  Note no model turns Iota to the north.

Iota's satellite presentation continues to impress and NHC expects the max. intensity will reach 140 (Cat. 4)before landfall.   Hard to believe two major hurricanes battering the same locations only weeks apart.  Sad to watch.

Locally, our next cold front passed through this afternoon with some clouds, but very few showers. This front is bringing cooler and much drier air into the Gulf South.

It is noticeably cooler out, but look at the dew points.  We were near 70 DPs this morning with DPs in the 20s coming for tonight and tomorrow.   That is great feeling air for much of this week.

What you will feel tomorrow is the wind chill.  NNE winds 12-20+ will make it feel like it's in the 40s  requiring jackets and sweaters.   Nah, it's not quite heavy coat time...yet.

Bitter cold is building up in Alaska & Canada with many spots 10-20 below zero.  It usually takes 2 weeks for that air to reach us IF we get a dip in the jet stream over the eastern states.  I see that happening after Thanksgiving heading towards December 1st.  Until then we're comfy cool this week warming back up the following week before the real chill arrives.   Get ready Gang.  Stay tuned Who Dat Nation.  Go Saints!
