That's where we need the Recon aircraft to pinpoint a surface center, but even then they mention it is a broad, elongated circulation.
The NHC's thinking hasn't changed, except to shift the future center line track farther to the east for the next 48 hours. They still believe Eta will then turn back towards the Gulf as an upper low over the western Gulf pulls it back westward. The longer it goes to the NE before making the turn back to the NW, the better for us. In addition, NHC is not making Eta a hurricane again as they believe the drier air over the western Gulf will limit strengthening. Whatever develops, we have another week of watching & waiting. This appears to eventually be a Florida panhandle storm and not our problem.
There is an interesting feature passing south of the Louisiana coast. It appears to have a mid level swirl that is rotating around the large high along the east coast. local winds are rather brisk from the east.
You should notice a difference feel to the air as dew points have bounced back from the 30s & 40s into the 60s. That summer-like feel will hang around into next week. Perhaps you have noticed I'm only posting once a day? Until Eta gets back into the Gulf, if that even happens, I am not going to get everyone worked up over something that should turn away back to the east and not impact us. IF I see anything that might indicate otherwise, I'll let you know. For now, enjoy your weekend and stay tuned!

thank you for your post. It is the ONLY place i go for info.
...But what's the ETA or ETA? Get it, a little humor in this difficult time!
Thanks Bob. I'm headed to Florida. I'll be watching for your update.
Thanks, Bob. By the way, it's my brother, Kendall's birthday today. It would mean a lot if you'd give him a shout out.
Thanks,

Why? He's wrong as often as most meteorologists? Better to listen to all the experts and try to inform yourself as much as possible to get the best ideas of what will happen. Also keep in mind chaos theory and how it relates to weather. You can't 100% predict it.
