If you lay the future track of Iota with Eta's track, you can see Honduras will be severely impacted again. Note NHC is expecting Iota to be a Cat. 3 before landfall. No model indicates Iota will take a northward turn as Eta did.
Satellite pictures are not impressive yet. That should change during on Saturday as it moves over warm water and low wind shear.
Friday the 13th was a beautiful day across all of the Gulf South with all day sunshine, warm temperatures and lower humidity.
Saturday will be a repeat here with another cold front arriving during the day on Sunday. It will not be a drastic front, but will bring back the good feel air for next week. Ahead of the front on Sunday, clouds return along with the muggies.
The change in seasons can be see as rain returns to the western states. Northern California is getting a soaking and that should help put out the forest fires. The real cold remains up in Canada and I don't see that coming our way for the next 10-14. While our friends up north are back to wearing heavy coats, Enjoy your weekend OUTSIDE as we'll feel very Spring-like. I was outside this afternoon visiting Captain Hylton in Destrehan, sipping our afternoon Chardonnay, planning our next fishing trip and marveling how good it felt to be in Louisiana. As good as it gets! Stay tuned!
