Despite The Chill, Not Feeling Blue...

As most of you know, my youth was spent up north (Hammond, IN, Ann Arbor, MI) during some of the coldest Winters ever (50s, 60s, 70s).  It wasn't until I moved to Tampa in 1971 did I discover it can be warm during Dec-Feb.  I found out my body tolerates warmth way better than cold.  Having said that, our current cool spell is rather delightful IF you are dressed for it.

With all day sunshine, it was a pretty day, but the brisk NW winds made it feel a little chilly.  But the air is so dry that it doesn't feel bad with some outerwear (sweaters/jackets).   The next 2-3 days will stay rather quiet with frosty mornings on the North Shore, but comfy cool afternoons with mostly sunny skies.

Not much is happening on the surface map with a small storm moving off the East coast.   Lots of low clouds linger over the eastern states keeping temperatures below normal.  There is a warm up over the plains that will slowly work towards the east during the week.

The West remains under an upper ridge keeping skies sunny and seasonally cool.  The rainy season is off to a slow start with the next 7-10 days showing no signs of drought relief.  We will start to focus on the coming weather pattern for Christmas week as many of you want to know who will see a White Christmas.  RIGHT NOW, it doesn't look like it'll be in the East or South.  I am the "Snow consultant" for Santa and have advised him to prepare for the lack of snow.  That could change.  Stay tuned!
