Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow...

I know many of you want the white stuff as we head towards Christmas, so I thought I'd show you my Grandson Ethan enjoying making his first snowman in Edmond. OK.   It's still snowing there and that system will head towards the northeast bringing some snow to the east coast.

Now I don't want to get you snow freaks excited, but look at these upper air charts for the next couple of weeks.

The top graphic is the current 500 md (18,000') flow with the trough coming out of the Rockies producing the Oklahoma snows.  But look at the bottom two.  The middle is for Christmas Eve with the deep trough now over the east and the last one is for Dec. 29th with a cut off low over the Gulf.   Not to say this is what will happen since that's 10-14 days out, but it certainly will produce lots of snow and rain for the eastern states.  For us (as always) it will depend how much cold air drops down to us.  Canada is certainly very cold and that east coast trough should bring the chill southward.

Hey, if I'm starting to get somewhat excited, then maybe you should too.  But back to the important stuff.  The weather in Philly should not be a problem for our Saints.

Temps. should be 55-60 with no rain around.   I'm thinking our guys are focused and the score will be Saints 34 Eagles 20.   Our weather is about to get much cooler for this week.

As the surface low pulls out to the northeast overnight, it'll drag a cold front with some showers for us after dark.  The bulk of the rain will stay to our north with the main impact here is a 20-25 degree temp. drop.  A west coast storm is bringing some rain to California and that will head our way for midweek.

So the next 3 weeks will see many fast moving systems bring snow to a good part of the northern states.   Whether we get included during Christmas week, it's something to think about.  Better yet, why not start singing "I'm dreaming of a White Christmas".  Some dreams do come true!  Stay tuned and go Saints!

🀞🏿🀞🏿 My kid would love some snow around Christmas! Would certainly help to shake the monotony of quarantining.
