Sunshine On My Shoulders Makes Me Happy...

Even though the total amount of daylight is nearing the shortest time of the year (Winter Solstice), it still feels good to have all day sunshine.  That is about to end.

You can see some clouds forming just south of our coast and our winds are expected to become more off the Gulf with time.  That is in response to an approaching western upper storm that is moving out of the southern Rockies.

You can see the radar returns around the upper low and that's before any Gulf moisture feeds into it.

Our dew points have climbed back into the 50s as the low level moisture streams back to the north.  Friday will see more clouds, but our rain chances should stay low.  Highs remain way above normal/average until a second front plows through late on Sunday.  That will bring our best chances for rain before we turn windy & colder for Monday & Tuesday.  Yet another system will come next Wednesday so our current quiet spell will change to a very fast flow with fronts coming every 3-4 days.

Let's not waste today's nice weather as next week looks much colder.  As for the Saints in Philly on Sunday, weather should not be a problem with highs around 60 and only a slight (10-20%) chance for a passing shower.   Long range Computer models have been flipping back and forth for Christmas week.  Today's run is more aggressive on developing a Christmas Eve/Day snowstorm across the central and southern plains with even the GFS hinting at some wrap around snow flurries near us for the day after Christmas.  Now don't go running for the shovels and snow blowers Gang.  Still, just the mention of flurries gets some hearts a fluttering.  Stay tuned!
