Western Storm Beginning to Head East.

While our weather remains quiet, boring & terrific, let me talk about the real important stuff...Saints Weather in Philadelphia on Sunday.   Yesterday I mentioned a storm off the West coast that will march across the country and bring our guys a chance for some showers in Philly on Sunday.  My thinking hasn't changed except that I might bring down the chances from 60% to 40%.  One thing for certain, it will be mild (55-60) with no chance for snow.

It's hard to believe a system off the West coast will affect the East coast in 5 days, but that's what the models are showing.   Right now the Eastern states are cloudy & cold, but that will change later this week.

The front that brought us our current cool spell has plunged through Cuba into the western Caribbean with the center of the surface high over the western Gulf.  You can see the warm up heading out of Texas and we'll be back 70+ for the rest of this week.

So far, satellite views have no signs of return moisture so expect lots of sun again for Thursday.  Clouds increase on Friday with some showers with our next front on Saturday.  That front will be the southern part of the western system that heads to the east for Sunday.

A re-enforcing shot of cold air arrives for Monday of next week, but it doesn't look any colder than what we've had this week.  There will be a series of storms leading up into Christmas with most of them being more rain than snow.  Only the Great Lakes & the Rockies appear likely to have a shot at a white Christmas.   Still 2 + weeks to go.   Stay tuned!
