Love The Snow, Love The Snow, How Low Will It Go?

I promised more snow pictures since we didn't get much and here they are.   The Top picture is from my son (Rob) in Longmont, CO. to show how pretty it looks when the sun comes back out.  The next is from my niece (April) in Valparaiso, Indiana where they got 8-10 inches.  Next is from "Mandy in Monroe" where her cats (Kamara & Lucy) are enjoying seeing the birds feed outside their window.  Finally, the bottom is Bailey trying to stay warm on our bed.  I did take her on our afternoon walk which I did not enjoy!

With the snow & Ice threats gone, our concern now is the overnight hard freeze.   We are already below freezing in most locations.  Bruce showed a nice graphic that tells you when to start dripping your water.

NWS is forecasting 12-18 north of Lake P. with 20-25 south.   The pipe run states that you run your water when the temps get to 28 and below and stay there for 4 hours or more and that will be the case tonight.

I have 2 100 watt bulbs going in my back shed and took my blooming plant inside my back sunroom.  This will be a one night event as another fast moving system will warm us for Wednesday.  In fact, we could reach 70 by Monday!

Clearing skies have revealed the extensive snow cover that will make tonight's freeze so severe.  Many record lows will be broken, many shattered.

Despite Tuesday's sunshine, we'll struggle to get out of the 30s as this is a large Arctic blast that covers most of the nation.

The heaviest snows are falling in Ohio with quite an ice storm from Nashville towards Pittsburgh.

There's even some severe weather ahead of the cold front down south in the warm air sector.  IF you had your own plane and a nice south Florida condo to go to, that's where it felt spring-like.

As Jackie Gleason once said....Oh Alice, how sweet it is!  The rest of us need to "hunker down" (don't you hate that saying?), stay warm, stay safe & stay tuned!  Start dripping sometime around 7 PM.
