We'll Be Warm, But the Big Story Remains Arctic Cold...

Afternoon sunshine has allowed us to approach 60 making us feel balmy compared to folks farther to the north.   Arctic air covers much of the northern tier of states with minor disturbances  moving along the boundary triggering bursts of snow.

It's still 35-40 below up in Canada and the question remains...how much of that chill reaches down to the Gulf Coast?  It appears we will get into the cold by Friday, but before then a Spring preview will have us into the 70s for most of this week.

Along with the warmer air will come several opportunities for rainy periods.  You can see the cooldown for late week, and there still is a chance we could be colder.  If a storm would develop over the southern Gulf and head to the NE, we could see some of the frozen stuff develop near us.  Right now, it looks like we'll be too warm for that.

The best weather is over the western states with lots of clouds & cold over the eastern 2/3rds.    As the next system comes out of the Rockies, we'll jump back into the warm air sector.

We were lucky to get back into sunshine splitting the clouds to our north & south.   I will enjoy the next couple of days as the big chill will make next weekend very uncomfortable.  Snow lovers, don't give up yet.  Stay tuned!
