Omaha topped 90 degrees this afternoon with even Chicago bouncing into the mid 70s. We topped out around 82, which is close to our long term average/normal. Dew points/ low level moisture is surging out of the Gulf with near 70 DPs over south Texas.
The battle ground for stormy weather will stay to our west and north for the next 2 days until a cold front plows through before daybreak on Friday. That will bring us one final opportunity to top the record for wettest Aprils, but we'll need 3+" to do it.
The surface high has shifted off the east coast with a deep low forming over the Rockies. All those lines/isobars on the map mean strong winds for the next several days. We should remain mostly dry until Thursday PM and evening into early on Friday.
Right now it's too soon to know if any of those storm will give us a severe threat. Behind the front on Friday, cooler and drier air will make for another delightful stretch of Spring weather through the weekend. Before then, the dreaded muggies are coming back.
Thanks to everyone who commented regarding the birds & bees. I'm glad to know my yard is not the norm and many of you are enjoying Mother Nature's creatures. Next I'll be asking if any snakes sighting yet! Boo! Stay tuned!
