Sun, Glorious Sun...Mister Can We Have More?

In the musical Oliver, there is a great song that says..."Food, Glorious Food..." with the little child asking "can we have more?"   That's how I felt today after tasting glorious sunshine this morning.  Can we have more?  Well yes, but not right away.

Satellite views capture a bright (thick) cloud mass approaching our state from the SW.  Those clouds will move over us tonight and hang around into tomorrow morning.  There might be a stray shower or two, but no widespread rains are indicated. Skies will turn sunny again by noon.

A more impressive cloud band is to our north ahead of and along a strong cold front.  Really cold air for so late in April will produce a band of snow from the Rockies to the Great Lakes tomorrow into Wednesday.  The main energy will stay well to our north and that front sweeps through with little or no rain here by late Wednesday.

You can see the huge temperature drop behind the front where it still feels Winter-like.   We'll see some 40s on the North Shore for Thursday morning, but bright sunshine should warm us back to near 70.  That is way below our average/normal high of near 80.

We will see yet another cold front sweep through on Saturday bringing us our next rain chance.  Models are indicating next week will start a warming trend, but the rest of this week will have comfy cool/chilly mornings with mild/warm afternoons.  After last week's uglies, I'll take this drier pattern as our grounds remains quite wet.   Get out and enjoy as May is just around the corner.  Stay tuned!
