Could It Happen One More Time? A Weekend Front?

It's often difficult to post a blog when we have very little changes happening at this time of the year.   This week is one of those weeks where nothing is happening as all the fronts are to our north.   But changes are coming for this weekend as the upper high breaks down allowing for a weak cold front to stagger into south LA/MS.

Most of the stormy weather is over the NE and in the Central plains, right where climatology says it should be.

If models are correct, we'll see an increase in shower chances here on Saturday as that frontal boundary tries to push through us.   You can see how cooler & drier air is pushing down from the north with dew points dipping into the 30s & 40s after being 65-70 a couple of days ago.

In the short term, Thursday & Friday will stay almost hot & humid with a stray shower before Saturday sees more widespread rainfall.  The second half of this holiday weekend looks terrific with plenty of sun & no rain with slightly cooler highs & lows.  The Tropics will be quiet for the next 7-10 days.  Stay tuned!
