Rain Chances Going Up Ahead Of Weak Weekend Fronts...

After a much needed dry spell, we will see some spotty storms late Friday into Saturday as a weak cold front tries to stagger into the northern Gulf.  SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has the main risk (level 3) for severe storms over the plains today and weakens that risk (level 1) over us for tomorrow & Saturday.

The top graphic is from this morning while the next is valid for Friday.  The storms currently over the Plains will move into NW LA. before daybreak.  They shouldn't reach us until after 3 PM.

The cold front will try to push into the northern Gulf by early Saturday, but it may not make it that far keeping us in a lingering rain threat.

Note how cold it is north of the front with temps in the 30s & 40s.  Burrr!  We won't see that here, but we should get less humid.

Let's be optimistic and go with the front pushing into the northern Gulf giving us a dry & pleasant weekend.  Just remember, there still is a lot of uncertainty regarding the movement of the front and where the boundary stops will determine who stays wet.    Not sure why I'm able to post pictures again, but I kinda slammed these together.  Stay tuned!
