As her forward speed increases, she will only be a one day inconvenience for Philly. NYC and Boston. I mentioned in a pot yesterday that there was another circulation causing heavy rains over Texas. NHC is finally mentioning it.
Since the main circulation is over land and models show no future organization. NHC is giving this a near zero chance to develop.
Very high dew points (70+) extend from the Gulf coast up to NYC. North of a frontal boundary temps are in the 60s & 70s while it's typical hot and humid south of that boundary. At least the heat wave has been broken for the immediate West Coast.
We briefly touched 90 today, but all the clouds and showers have kept many locations in the 70s. There are signs that a slow drying trend will set in over the weekend and that will mean hotter temps.
There are no signs of an upper high building over us that would mean heat wave.(95-100) . I would just like to see more sunshine and fewer (or no) showers even if it means hotter temps. Two weeks from today kicks off the Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo. Besides great fishing, food & fun, you have the opportunity to win a fully equipped 21 foot Bay boat.
You don't even have to fish the rodeo to win the boat prize. Just go to www.tarponrodeo.org and register on line. You odds of winning are far greater than buying lottery tickets and you help fund a good cause, Grand Isle High School. With no tropical development expected for at least 10-14 days, fishing Grand Isle should be exciting. Come on down Gang. Stay tuned!
