NHC admits it has shifted their 5 day center line position to the west by 150 miles! That is drastic for a normally conservative NHC. Most models forced the shift and many models are even farther to the west like a Hurricane Sandy path.
If you have travel plans to the Northeast for next week, you'll need to pay close attention as Henri could have major travel impacts. NHC did very well forecasting the early season storms, but beginning with Fred, the forecast track has been a real challenge. Models have not done well with these weaker storms. Since Grace is now a Hurricane, its future track should have greater confidence.
Grace should have no impact on Louisiana except for some higher tides and seas along the coast. We have changes coming to our local weather not associated with any tropical activity. As Fred lifted to the north, a big upper high is projected to build westward across Louisiana for this weekend. That should end our daily spotty storms resulting is hotter temps for this weekend.
On the surface weather map, most of the eastern 2/3 of the country is hot & humid, but cooler air has invaded the Northwest. Unfortunately, that air is not coming here.

I am 65, as is my wife. We have both been fully vaccinated since March and intend to get the booster when available. Please, folks, follow Bob’s advice!
The side effects of the vacine are nothing, compared to the effects of the virus.
