Nicholas Remains a Rain Threat, But Not Life Threatening...

Until we get a weak cool front mid next week, we're stuck dealing with the remains of Nicholas, now just a weak swirl on satellite views and hard to find on radar due to the lack of rain around the center.

The center is somewhere around Lake Charles, but you can't see that on the radar returns.  What I'm seeing on satellite is a slow drift to the WEST.   My concerns today and tomorrow is that the area of T-Storms down over the Gulf doesn't shift back towards us.

Right now, NWS is placing the threat for heaviest rains (2-4"+) from LA into NW FL.   We should see some sunny breaks today, but there will be more tropical downpours, especially south of the city.

You can see that on radar this morning while all of SE LA/MS remains under a Flash Flood Watch.   The Tropics remain active as NHC is following multiple areas for development.

The wave in the central Atlantic will be the one to watch for NEXT week.  We want a turn to the north so it doesn't head into the Gulf, but it's far too soon to know that.  The other system off the East coast will not be our problem.

So keep the rain gear handy and try to cope with repairs during our late Summer heat & humidity.  Stay Tuned!
