Get Ready For A Stromy Afternoon...

This will be a quick post since I've been out fishing the past 2 days and I wanted to add on to the well advertised coming severe weather event.   This should come as no surprise and you have the next 5-6 hours to finish up going to the store or running errands before "hunkering down" later this afternoon.  It appears to me the crunch time will be between 3-9 PM.

SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has upgraded the risk for severe weather to level 3 (Enhanced) for much of south Louisiana.  We will have 2 things to watch this PM.  1) the line plowing eastward out of Texas and 2) the cells forming out ahead of it.

The danger with the line will be straight line winds, while the cells are more likely to produce a tornado.  We probably will go under a tornado watch later today.

You can see the dip in the jet stream that was off the West Coast has now moved into the plains and will shift over the eastern states tomorrow and Friday.  That will drag the much colder air down over us for this weekend, but it will be dry with lots of sunshine.

Finally, we had a really good fishing trip out of Shell Beach.

4 guys over 2 days caught over 100 trout & 5 reds.  I caught this gem on a Vudu shrimp (plastic).   Can anyone say "Stuffed Flounder"!!!  Yummy!   Stay tuned!
