Tornado Watch Until 10 PM, NOLA Pay Attention Time 5-8 PM

As expected, SPC has issued a Tornado Watch for all of SE LA & South MS until 10 pm.   Included in the discussion is wording that should alert you to the Enhanced threat.

The top graphic is the Tornado Watch area with the middle being the risks areas.  Note their wording,,, "Few tornadoes LIKELY with a couple of intense tornadoes POSSIBLE".   These Guys/Ladies are good and when they use such strong wording, you need to pay attention.  Here is the set up.

A deep low is over the central Plains with a strong cold front approaching from the west.  I've drawn the warm front to our north since we're well into the 80s.  look at how much cooler and DRIER the air is behind the front.  We'll have dew points in the 40s here tomorrow bringing back the good feel air, but we have to get through some rocky storms first.

You can see there is a lot of lightning with this line with some heavy storms over the North Shore out ahead of it.  those often are the tornado producing storms.  We have another 2-3 hours of mostly dry weather south  with the worst of the weather moving through between 5-8 PM.   I've taken my hanging baskets down and moved some of my smaller pots to the ground.

Once the front plows through, we'll enjoy a stretch of lovely Fall weather, as long as you're dressed for it.  The main problem will be the strong winds on Thursday and Friday.

You can see northerly winds will replace our south winds that have us into the mid 80s.    Get those sweaters and jackets ready Gang.   It's what many of you have been wanting since last March!   Enjoy! Now go watch Bruce & David on FOX 8 as they try to keep us safe.   Stay tuned!
