Non-Exciting November So Far...

As we transition from the Summer tropical weather to the sometimes brutal Winter storms, we occasionally see some strong November systems.   This first week in November finds storms off both coasts with not much in between. We begin out west.

The rainy season has arrived along the West Coast and some much needed moisture is beginning to make a dent in their long drought.   The other storm off the East coast is affecting our weather.

This system is a slow mover and is bringing down cool, dry air over us.  It has moved over the warm Gulf stream, but this is not August or September.  Very cold air is all around this system so it will not develop into a tropical storm.   However, impacts along the coasts have been significant.

The heaviest rains remain offshore, but high tides have flooded many communities.  Look at how cold it is.  Jacksonville is 46 !

Some of that chill is over us, but see how much warmer it is on the back side of the surface high.  Denver is in the mid 70s.  We finally got back into sunshine, but barely.

A lingering cloud deck remains over much of our state where temperatures stayed in the 50s.  Our slow warm up will continue until the next front arrives later Thursday.

If the Superdome had a retractable roof, we could open it this weekend.  The other big news is it's time change weekend.  Set those clocks back (Fall back) and get an extra hour of sleep.  You'll notice how early it gets dark and how bright it is when you get up.  Enjoy your weekend and Go Saints!  Stay tuned!
