We Were Oh So Close, But Yet So Far...

Today's forecast called for afternoon sunshine after some lingering morning clouds.  Obviously, that didn't happen.  But before you rag your favorite weather person, look at how close we came to that sunny PM.

Skies did clear along the Mississippi coast and you can see how that allowed Biloxi to warm to near 70.  There is a weak surface low over the eastern Gulf that will redevelop tomorrow off the Carolina coasts.

As the low develops, interaction with the strong high to the north will tighten the pressure gradient resulting in gale force winds tomorrow into Sunday.   The northerly flow over us will continue bringing in the drier air making for a good feel weekend, if you're dressed for it.

Look at the warm up on the back side of the high over the Plains.  Denver is 15 degrees warmer than we are!   30s & 40s dew points over south Texas tells me there are no signs of return flow yet.  Our weekend will have comfy cool nights with pleasantly mild  days.  Next week will warm back into the 70s (normal highs 74) before another front arrives next Friday.

Tailgating for the Saints on Sunday should be terrific.  I expect our guys to rally around our new QB ( Trevor Siemian) and trounce the Falcons.   Saints 38, Falcons 17.  Who Dat!  Stay tuned!
