Brief Cooldown Won't Last, Warmer Week Ahead...

After dealing with allergies for weeks, our current cooler and drier spell has made me feel much better.  However, we're heading back to an above normal pattern that has been in place for most of late November & December.  I don't see another front coming until next weekend as a deep low over the Gulf of alaska is keeping the upper flow over the U.S. mainly WSW.

Since there is no upper support to drive the Canadian cold southward, we'll be back in the 70s for much of this week.

The cool surface high is already moving to the East coast and the Gulf moisture will lowly increase during this week.  Without a front coming, it should be a mostly dry week.

It will be a chilly start on Monday, but that will be the coolest day this week.  As we warm up, fog will likely return by later in the week.

The clouds have cleared most of us with the exception right along the coast.  Frankly, if you're dressed for it, today was near perfect.  Finally, I mentioned the President's press conference yesterday since it addressed a question regarding the warnings that were issued before the many tornadoes touched down.  I tongue in cheek suggested the reporter & our President should have read my blog.  C'mon, I know that would never happen, but I was using that example to show that most folks had ample information that a tornado outbreak was coming and NO ONE should have said they were surprised.  In fact, SPC warned that the atmospheric setup was ripe for long track & powerful storms.  For those of you who thought that was political, what a stretch!  I have always been a registered Independent.  I hate BOTH parties and only wish we could have a third party for us moderates so that the radical right and left wouldn't control government.  Now that might be political?!!! Stay tuned!

I'm a registered Independent moderate too. I hate both parties too. Glad to see my favorite weatherman has some things in common!
