Spring Preview This Week, Some Lightning & Thunder Too...

After a frosty start, temperatures quickly rebounded into the mid to upper 60s as the cold Arctic high shifted to our north and east.  With winds coming off the Gulf the next 4 days, it's time to get your plants back outside as we have no freeze threat until next weekend.

Dallas reached 70+ today and that's where we'll be for the next couple of days.  Our next rain maker is a weak upper disturbance coming through New Mexico that is beginning to tap Gulf moisture surging northward.

Brownsville's dew points has jumped to 50 and we'll see that more humid airmass overspread us tomorrow.  Some showers will be around on Tuesday, but the real stormy days will be late Wednesday through Thursday into early Friday.

As you can see, we're not done with the cold air as Saturday morning will be near or below freezing once again.

This afternoon's satellite view captured several fires over Louisiana.  The Weather Prediction Center's (WPC) rainfall forecast for us has between 3-5" for the next 7 days as the end of this week looks to be soggy.  With a large temperature contrast likely, there will be the potential for some severe weather over parts of the South.

In the short term, SW winds mean much warmer air tonight and you'll notice a different feel to the air as the humidity comes back tomorrow,  Stay tuned!  Watching and rooting for Joe Burrow right now!
