Weekend Chill Will Be Brief With Quick Warm Up...

NWS has not changed their thinking regarding the freeze coming this weekend.   Models continue to show some type of major Winter storm forming along the East Coast, but they keep the core of the super cold to our north and east.

I'm leaving my plants outside tonight and will decide tomorrow whether to bring them inside for Saturday morning.  All will depend how deep does the "Nor'easter" get, and how much of the super cold heads south?

There is still plenty of the super cold (30-35 below) across Canada.  The upper flow keeps pumping that chill into the Great Lakes & East coast.  The bottom graphic is valid for midday on Saturday that has that Nor'easter cranking up the East Coast.  If you have any travel plans for NYC eastward to Boston, you'd might want to postpone for now.

You can already see the next cold surge coming our way.  If you remember yesterday's temps at this time, it is NOT as cold up north so that may mean our weekend freeze may be confined to the North Shore.

Today's sunshine warmed most of us to 60+ today with the exception being near Lake P.  The rapid warm up next week will be accompanied by higher rain chances on Tuesday & Wednesday.  Another strong cold front arrives late week as we are still in the coldest 3 weeks, historically, of the year.

Where's the best weather?   Head West young  man/woman.   Look at the clear skies from Washington down into the Baja.  Hey, I thought today was "almost perfect" as my golfing partner (Marvin Bernstein) would say.   Hope you got to enjoy it as Friday will be noticeably colder, especially by the afternoon.    Stay tuned!
