Keep 'Em Covered Another Night...

Morning lows on the South Shore stayed just above freezing, but not by much.  Tonight with clear skies and decreasing winds, I expect lows to be 2-3 degrees colder than this morning.  That is NOT what NWS is calling for as they keep the South Shore above freezing.

As you can see, the bigger potted plants are covered in my yard with the smaller ones already in my He-Shed with light bulbs to provide warmth.   Clouds have pushed off the LA/MS coast so the only thing that might keep temps up is winds off Lake P.

Most of the nation is chilly with only south Florida and the California coast on the mild side.

our cold air mass will slowly moderate the next couple of days with a weak disturbance coming by to our south on Monday.

I know the FOX 8 seven day really warms us up for Thursday & Friday, but I'm not as optimistic as I see another surge of colder air coming for Friday & Saturday.   It appears rain chances stay near zero for the next 7-10 days.

In the short term, Sunday morning will start out frosty, but with all day sunshine, we should warm up into the 50s.  Note how dry the air is (low dew points) down over south Texas with no signs of return moisture yet.  If you're dressed for it, Sunday looks spectacular!

These satellite views show snow on the ground that extends way down into Texas.  Look at the sharp cutoff between the snow & no snow area.   Go to the west/left of the line and you're in many inches.  Go 10 miles to the eat/right and you stayed in rain.  That's the forecast problem, where will the rain/snow line end up?

The top two pictures are from my son (Justin) in Edmond, OK while the bottom two are from my oldest son (Rob) in Longmont, CO.  As you can see with Rob, you can take the man away from Mardi Gras, but you can't take Mardi Gras away from the man!   I sent them King Cakes this week!  Stay tuned!
