Looking For Weather News...

Our weather has been so nice since last week's tornadoes (thankfully) that there has been very little to talk about.  One has to really look to find some interesting weather, but I'm up to the challenge.  Let's begin with the miserable.

While much of the nation is warming up, not so the Great Lakes and the Northeast where Winter hangs firms with freezing temps and snow showers.  Let's go to the happy.

After a very wet December, California has been mostly dry for three months.  Finally there is a storm system that promises to bring them some much needed rainfall tonight and Monday.   It's this same system that will move across the Rockies and out into the Plains by Wednesday bringing with it the "Potential" for more severe storms.

SPC has issued a level 2 risk (Slight) to our west on Tuesday moving it over us for Wednesday.  That far out, these are only outlooks and NOT forecasts.  However, after what happened last week, just to hear a regular T-Storm will have nerves rattled.

High pressure covers us this afternoon and, as it shifts to the east, Gulf moisture will return, especially by Tuesday..

That already is showing up as our dew points are back into the 50s after being in the 20s & 30s.  Note the heat building in Texas.  Amarillo is 90 with Dallas 86.

With no rain here until Wednesday, gardeners may want to water their lawns & plants as we'll be well up into the 80s.

The coming front will likely stall in our neighborhood later this week and that could bring back more rain for the weekend.

Finally, this was on Face Book yesterday.  The picture was from the late 80s with Ken Aucoin, the late Al Duckworth and the little fella.  Had Al lived, he would have been 92.   Still to me, he had the greatest deep voice of any weathercaster I ever worked with.  A real gentle man.   Stay tuned!
