Progressive (Fast Moving) Upper Pattern To Continue...

Sometimes the upper air pattern gets locked into a trough on either coast with a ridge opposite it.  That often leads to days of stalled fronts and ugly weather.  That is not the case this week as we are seeing upper disturbances streak across the nation every 3-4 days.  Since we have entered our Spring severe weather season, these upper lows often produce bouts of severe storms.   We had one early on Tuesday with another coming for early Friday and yet another sometime next Tuesday.

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) is already putting out severe outlooks for late Thursday through Friday that covers much of the Gulf coast, including us.

The top severe graphic is valid for Thursday into Friday with the next valid Friday into Saturday.

As the upper low over the SE lifts away, Thursday should see plenty of sunshine with warmer temps.  The next system is over Colorado bringing them needed mountain snows, but that won't impact us until after midnight into early on Friday.   It's always more dangerous getting severe weather during the night hours so we'll need to pay attention on Friday morning.  Make sure your FOX 8 Weather App is set up to receive NWS warnings.

Note the warm air coming to our west.  We should be 75-80 tomorrow with near 80 on Friday.

Lots of clouds at times today kept us slightly below normal.  Surface winds have yet to shift back off the Gulf, but that'll happen by Thursday PM.  Finally...

I have been busy raising and expanding my garden beds.  The longer days are getting the petunias, geraniums and my "top hat" begonias to really flower.  I love the way Nature wakes up after our "long, cold Winter" !!!  Next, the trees!     Stay tuned!
