Much Cooler & Drier Next 3-4 Days...

Yesterday's upper disturbance is long gone, but it did not bring a cold front with it.  That will change later tonight as a stronger upper storm dives to the SE out of Minnesota.   Models are predicting that low will be centered over Michigan by Friday and that will bring colder Canadian air over the Great Lakes into the SE including us.

The bottom 4 graphics are the projected positions for that low beginning with today, then Thursday followed by Friday & Saturday.  As you can see, by Saturday the Low quickly lifts out signaling a warming trend for next week.

The coldest morning will be on Saturday where temps on the far North Shore could drop into the upper 30s.   The really drier air (low dew points) remain just to our west, but you'll feel the difference later tonight and tomorrow as dew points should be in the 30s & 40s.

While we'll be enjoying some beautiful Spring weather through the weekend, the North & East will wonder when will Winter end?  I grabbed this graphic from Zack Fradella this morning that clearly shows why the East will be chilly.

We won't see the 20s or 30s, but it'll be chilly enough for sweaters and jackets, especially in the mornings, for the next 3 days.

There is a cloud deck over north Louisiana that might drift across areas north of Lake P. , but we should see mainly sunny skies through the weekend.

We're warm now with SW winds ahead of the front.  Later tonight, winds will shift to the NNW bringing in the cooler & drier air.  Get out and enjoy the next couple of days as this will probably our last really strong cold front.  The longer days and higher sun angle typically take the edge off any cold air pushing down to the Gulf coast.   Sorry.  Stay tuned!
