So even if Alex is named, the 1st named storm will have had only minor (mainly flooding) impacts on the U.S. There is nothing out there that we will follow for the next 7-10 days. But the GFS is up to its old bias at 14 days bringing a storm into the southern Gulf.
We have seen this before with nothing forming so I'm not getting nervous at all.
It;s a typical June weather map with the exception of no super heat except in south Texas.
Some rain is holding down the temps over the corn belt and our dew points have decreased as slightly drier air filtered in behind a weak front. that front will return northward tomorrow bringing back our chance for a daytime heating storm.
The closest showers are west of Morgan City. Note the north winds at most locations.
Without any tropical system or fronts coming, look for it to heat up next week. That's call June/Summer as it's supposed to be hot. Enjoy your weekend. Stay tuned!
