Still No Alex Until It Clears Florida...

This season's first tropical threat has been struggling from the get go due to strong westerly upper wind shear.  NHC mentions there are several low level swirls, but aircraft Recon has been unable to locate a well defined center.   Consequently, Alex will have to wait until the disturbance gets east of Florida.  Satellite views confirm the lack of any concentrated storms.

The color infrared has a lond band of storms, but they are oriented SW-NE and not around any center.  In fact, the last daylight pic had the low level center farther to the west and "exposed" with storms blown well to the east.

The radar view at 10 pm has much of the rain shield already pulling to the east of Florida.  Let's hope most of the predicted storms (20+) this season struggle like PTC # 1.

Otherwise, our weather is Summer in the South, hot & humid with spotty storms.  Enjoy your weekend and, yes, I enjoyed Top Gun, Maverick.   Great scenery, thrilling and then there's 59 year old Tom Cruise who looks great.  The Lady Gaga song at the end was perfect.  Stay tuned!
