Tick, Tick, Tick, Still No Bonnie & PTC #2 Running Out Of Time...

We continue to have several tropical disturbances to follow, but once again today, nothing is developing.  From the disturbance way out in the Atlantic, to PTC # 2 in the Caribbean to Invest 95 L in the Gulf, we have many systems with POTENTIAL.  But as former  New York MetsWorld Series Hero ('69) Ron Swoboda once told me, "Kid, potential means you haven't done anything yet."

Let's work from the east to the west.   The wave out in the Atlantic is not likely to develop as models keep it an open wave.  NHC is still predicting PTC # 2 will become T. S. Bonnie as it is not moving away from land.

Satellite views do find a low level cloud swirl, but Recon could not find a closed center.  Note the lack of storms around the rotation.  This system will become Bonnie and will quickly enter the Pacific where it could strengthen into a hurricane.

It isn't our problem.  Closer to home, we have lots of disorganized storms from Texas to Florida.

There are 2 swirls off the Texas coast.  The more apparent is a mid level rotation that is lifting into southwestern Louisiana.  The weak surface low east of Corpus has no storms around it.  There is still a slim "potential" for development, but the main affect for us is more heavy rainfall Friday & Saturday.

The clouds have tempered the heat and that should be the case for the next two days.

Rain chances go down heading into next week.

Even with the clouds and rains keeping us less hot, the earlier June heat wave has made us # 1 as the hottest June in modern times.

The bottom graphic does not include this June.  As you can see, the 85.2 gets us above the 2011 former record.  Not sure if we want to be # 1 when it comes to record heat?!!!   Stay tuned!
