Sunday Soaker With More On The Way...

A fast moving upper disturbance triggers widespread showers & T-Storms across most of SE LA/MS.  My gauge recorded 1.42" with MSY 1.91" & Lakefront Airport 2.57".  As I mentioned yesterday, the weak frontal boundary was likely to stall around us and it looks like that will be the case.  Now attention shifts to the stronger Low heading into California.  That will bring a fairly high risk for severe storms near us late Tuesday into Wednesday.

My thinking is the upper dynamics will lift far to our north keeping the strongest storms over north LA & central MS.

today was the tenth straight day above normal/average with at least 2 more to go before the chill returns.  As you can see, at mid afternoon, much of the nation was seasonally cool with the exception being along the Gulf coast.  Since the 1st front stalls, expect fog to be an issue again until the stronger system arrives.  Unfortunately, my computer won't allow certain graphics to post tonight.

As that western storm heads our way midweek, expect Wednesday to be our rain day.

I'm going fishing with Captain Hylton tomorrow ahead of this next front.  "Old timers" always said fish bite better ahead of a strong front when the pressures are falling.  I'll let you know.  Stay tuned!
