After a Frosty Start, No Real Cold Coming Next 2 Weeks...

A deepening storm off the East coast has driven cold air well down into the Gulf.  With the ridge of high pressure right over us, this morning started out with frost on the roof tops on the South Shore.  MSY reported a low of 38, but my gage was down to 34.9.

We may see several weak fronts later this week, but the "atmospheric rivers " that have been drenching the West coast keep bringing milder pacific air into the lower 48.  The real cold is trapped up over northern Canada with models indicating very little chance for another Arctic Blast coming for the next 10-14 days.

You can see how much of the Rockies & western states are covered in clouds while the East remains clear.  Warmer air is trying to surge northward around the backside of the surface high.

You can see the 70s to our west and you'll notice a different feel to the air tomorrow as dew points will jump back into the 50s (more humid).

As clouds spread over us tonight, lows may be around midnight before the clouds arrive.  I moved all my plants back outside this afternoon as we will have no threat for a freeze for quite some time.

There could be some strong storms late Wednesday into Thursday with a cool down for Friday & Saturday.  If we could have today's weather for the rest of Winter, I'd be very happy.  Going fishing with Captain Hylton tomorrow.  Stay tuned!
