Wow, What A Night For A Wedding!

Our good friends, David & Teresa, are going to a wedding of a cousin this evening & can it be any better weather-wise?  Clear skies, light winds & comfy cool temperatures make for a perfect outdoor setting.  The first week in March often is stormy, but not this year.  In fact the only thing showing up on satellite pictures is the numerous fires, especially in Mississippi.

The storm system that blew through yesterday has pushed off the East coast with much drier air flowing in from the west.  As the surface high moves over us tonight, lows will dip into the 40s on the North Shore & 50s south.

Dew points remain in the 40s over Texas so Sunday will be another good feel day.  South winds bring back the muggies on Monday and next week will again see us flirt with record warmth.

Without a dip in the upper flow over the eastern states for the past 2 months, we have mostly been above normal/average every day.   Will that change anytime soon?  Well, NOAA's 8-14 day outlook indicates a big cool down is coming.

Zack Fradella showed us this morning the upper pattern for next weekend that would bring us that cold air.  However, the computer has done that before and it hasn't happened.  Let's check this afternoon's run.

the top graphic was valid this morning with another upper system moving into California.  The middle is valid for Friday shifting the upper trough to the middle of the country and the bottom is valid for next Saturday.  As you can see, the upper trough doesn't deepen over the Southeast like Zack showed from last night's model run.  The flatter flow will brings us cooler air for next weekend, but no real Arctic blast, unless model forecasts changes.  So for this coming week, get ready for the heat.

We will see more cold this Spring, but the daily higher sun angle coupled with the lengthening hours of daylight will temper any chill that comes.  Still, I'd hold off on planting any tomatoes or tender plants until after March 15th.  Get outside tomorrow.  Stay tuned!
