Friday & Sunday Sunny & Dry, Semi-Wet Saturday...

There hasn't been any major changes in the thinking for this weekend.  Today was perfect for the start of Jazz Fest and Saturday will be the only day with rain issues.  Clouds may linger into midday on Sunday as we wait for the upper trough to get to our east.  The base of that trough is now rounding New Mexico and it is triggering a wave of heavy storms across central & south Texas.

So as everyone has been mentioning for days, the timing of these systems will affect tomorrow's outdoor plans.  The VIPIR model is the most bullish on giving us heavy rain, mainly in the morning.

Note, most of the rains are gone by the noon hour and we might end up with a mostly dry afternoon.  That would be the best case scenario. Now, if it's not raining in the AM, that would mean the storms are delayed into the afternoon hours.  It's be a day to have your phone & the FOX 8 weather app available so you can keep up with what's going on.

The severe weather threat here will be limited as the return low level moisture flow is deepest in south Texas (dew points 65-70).  Some cooler, drier air will filter back in on Sunday lasting into Tuesday.  Next week looks dry with a gradual warming trend that will make it feel almost hot for next weekend.

Finally, I was golfing today with my long time partner Marvin Bernstein.

Marvin's goal is to shoot his age (82) before his next birthday in September.  He is my inspiration as I  journey on the aging process.  Getting old can still be fun!  Enjoy your weekend and stay tuned!
