Weak Cold Front Will Stall Near Us Bringing Some Heavy Rainfall...

We have gone back into a warm stretch after a brief cool down.  But some relief from the warmth will arrive here on Friday into Sunday as a weak cold front staggers our way.  That front will stall near us until the next upper disturbance over the Baja arrives Friday night into Saturday. The increase in clouds and showers should keep us cooler for several days.

This upper pattern (tough over West, Ridge over East) is bringing summer to the Southeast while it stays Winter-like over the West.  The boundary in between has been were today's severe weather occurred.

Glenallen, MO. was hit by a deadly tornado with Kentucky being under the gun this afternoon.  Since the main upper energy is lifting into Canada, widespread severe weather is not expected tomorrow.

The cold front just to our west will take forever to get trough waiting on the next upper low over the Baja.

Thursday morning should be mainly dry with increasing rain chances for Thursday PM into Friday.

IF we're lucky, the front will sag through and bring us drier air for Easter Sunday?  Tomorrow will end the 2023 National Hurricane Conference being held here in NOLA.  Normally, that's where we learn what the Colorado State forecasting team is calling for this upcoming season.  But so many other companies are issuing forecasts, CSU released their projections before the conference.  What I have learned is these preseason forecasts are meaningless because they can't pinpoint location or what month for landfall.  Several are trying to forecast higher landfalling locations, but they are so general that they remind me of The Farmer's Almanac's prediction...."There will be a snowstorm/blizzard over New England in late January."  Duh!   Stay tuned!
