The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow, Much Warmer...

It seems when we get into a wet pattern, it's very hard to get out of it once strong cold fronts stop coming.  Weak fronts pass through taking away the rains, but they often leave us with low clouds.  The past 2 days have seen weak upper disturbances come by enhancing our rain chances.  But relief is so close.  The last upper feature is pulling to our NE taking most of the rain with it.

However, this is NOT a surface cold front bringing us drier air.  That will come for Saturday & Sunday.  But look at how the low level moisture (high dew points 60+) linger back to Dallas.

Back in the sunshine it's near 90 and that heating has bubbled up a few T-Storms.

I don't think that will happen here partly because some dense fog is likely to linger the low clouds for much of tomorrow morning.  After the fog lifts, it should be a very pretty & Spring-like feeling day.

There is still plenty of super cold (30-40 below zero) air across northern Canada, but the upper flow will not allow the chill to come down to us.  We'll still see more cold fronts and you'll need sweaters & jackets this weekend.  But, I believe the threat of freezing temps. are gone.

The front on the surface map to our west is NOT the one coming for this weekend.  The energy associated with the next front is still offshore of the West coast.   It'll race our way for Friday bringing back the rain chances and possibly the threat for some severe storms late Friday into early on Saturday.

Behind that front will be cooler (not cold) & drier air for the weekend.  In the short term, beware of morning fog, but wait for the sun to come out tomorrow, especially in the afternoon.  Stay tuned!
