East Coast Trough Lingers, Staying Dry Down South, Ugly Northeast

We all know what's coming in a few weeks, so I believe we appreciate this kind of weather way more than the folks in San Diego, who enjoy it for 10 months of the year.  Last week the upper trough was stuck over the West & Rockies with a ridge over the Southeast.  That has flipped for this week and folks are feeling the difference. Where it was cold & wet, it's now warm & dry.  But look under the upper low.

The Great Lakes & Northeast are still wearing heavy coats and sweaters waiting for Spring.  Not us, this is a near perfect pattern to be in as fronts keep coming knocking down the humidity.  The higher sun angle and longer daylight quickly moderates any morning chill.

During the next couple of weeks, the upper jet stream will retreat farther to the north and our weather will start depending on systems coming from the tropics.

With no rain coming for 7-10 days, us gardeners will have to start watering our plants as the flowers are a blooming.

My Jasmine is going nuts pouring out a sweet fragrance stronger than my grapefruit tree.  Hope you're appreciating this as much as I am.  Enjoy your weekend and stay tuned!  I will try to remember talking about the preseason hurricane forecast on the next blog.
