Quiet July Continues, Daily Spotty Strong Storms

We are in the second week of July with no model indicating tropical development for the next 7-10 days.  Another huge plume of Saharan Dust is moving over the Atlantic and that should limit any development out there.

There are several upper lows closer to home, but upper lows typically result in little development.

No model develops anything during the next 7-10 days.  That is not unusual for early July.  Once we get to August, climatology tells us tropical activity ramps up.

There are clusters of T-Storms that develop during daytime heating across the SE as dew points in the 70s make most folks uncomfortable. T-Storms fired off earlier today and I got a good soaker (.59").  Most are gone now.

Get some rain, you get some brief cooling relief.

We can live with this kind of weather through September as long as anything tropical stays away.  The International Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo Kicks off in 2 weeks.

To fish the Rodeo and win any prizes, you need to register ($55) at tarponrodeo.org.  That gets you an entry for the $ 10,000 grand prize drawing on Saturday.  Even if you don't fish or don't want to drive way down to Grand Isle, you can register to win that $10K prize.  Odds are way better than Powerball or Lotto.  Stay tuned!
