Well, Gang, the Creator is not ready for me yet, as my hip replacement surgery was a success. Thanks to my talented surgeon, Dr. Lance Estrada, as he is the BEST! Special thanks to my caregivers Kathy & Bernard Baudin, who jumped in after abandonment. To Jack & Ann Dufford, who feed the little fella. And to all my neighbors & friends who called & texted to see how I am feeling. I'm feeling great and want to find out where my new life is going. Thanks to all of you for posting and praying for me. It worked! Let's get back into the Tropics, where Tropical Storm Melissa is expected to become a Major Hurricane over the weekend.
Her track has wobbled like a drunken sailor, but the color view indicates the core is forming, and Melissa will be a hurricane soon. NHC's forecast track moves Melissa slowly westward with a turn to the north for next week. All models predict rapid intensification with Melissa reaching either a Cat. 4 or 5.
It appears Jamaica, eastern Cuba & Haiti will receive the brunt of this storm with major destruction coming. Hopefully, the word is out and people flee inland. We explained on October 14th, the northern Gulf is now protected.
The westerlies keep sinking deeper and deeper into the south, bringing us cold fronts. The first plows through on Sunday, with a stronger one later next week.\
Today felt nice since our dewpoints were low. You can see the deeper moisture (higher dew points) surging north out of the Gulf over Texas. As the front plows into that moisture, some strong storms are forming and that will make for a wet Saturday PM into most of Sunday. The next front behind it is the REAL front.
Yes, that's sweater weather next week! Finally...
Look what the cooler nights are doing to my plants. Of course I'm being forced to give up my house & garden soon. I'll get over it. Stay tuned!
