What's left of former Tropical Storm Olga is moving north of Jamacia and is expected to head into the Gulf on Saturday. She's only an area of low pressure right now and will not get stronger in the Gulf since water temperatures are too cold now. In addition, a strong cold front will sweep across the Gulf Coast on Saturday bringing us back to the reality of December. You'll need sweaters and jackets again this weekend, but the real cold will stay well to our north. The coldest mornings will be Sunday & Monday when the Northshore could see near freezing temps. ..but not south of Lake P. Ahead of the Saturday front, we could see some showers and T-Storms bringing us sopme much needed rainfall.
Looking for Christmas presents? I'm reading two books that I encourage you to try. 1) COOL IT by Bjorn Lomborg and 2) Human Impacts on Weather & Climate by Cotton & Pielke. Too bad we can't get our lawmakers into reading these books before they vote to raise our taxes.
