Hooray for Dr. Neil Frank !!!

What a way to begin 2008. Dr. Neil Frank, the former Director of the National Hurricane Center, has questioned whether NHC is naming storms differently now. He says 6 of 2007's 15 named storms would not have been named while he was director. That means last year would have been just an average year. Why does that matter? Remember the insurance industry uses those "official" NHC numbers to establish their risk along coastal locations. The higher those storm numbers, the more we pay in premiums. Thank you Dr. Frank for stepping up for the little people. I wonder where all those bloggers who criticised me for questioned NHC last summer are now?

The coldest air of the season will give both sides of the lake freezing temperatures tonight and tomorrow night. Northshore might even get into the high teens if the winds die off and skies stay clear. Full precautions should be taken with running an inside faucet slowly overnight to prevent pipes from freezing. Much warmer air returns for this weekend.

Thank all of you for some very nice comments. I had a wonderful visit with my Mother even though my flight out of Chicago was cancelled yesterday. Finished reading another book regarding Global Warming. It IS a political agenda. I'll discuss more later this week.
