Oh when those Saints come marching in...Yes, Tom Benson becomes the owner of Channel 8 on Friday and we finally have an owner who wants us! FOX 8 has been for sale since before Katrina yet somehow we have become the second most watched TV station in our market. We now will be the only station with local ownership and that hopefully will allow us to challenge the long time market leader in Channel 4.
Weatherwise, our daily showers are back...and that's a good thing since many areas are several inches short of their monthly normal totals. One strong tropical wave is moving into Central America tonight. It is followed by a stronger wave racing thru the central Caribbean. Several long range computer models make this our next named storm (Cristobal) and bring it into the southern Gulf by Monday of next week. We'll follow it for you, but I'm not going to get concerned until it comes closer. There is another weak low just off the east coast from Jacksonville. It could develop if it stays over open water...but it's east of Florida...not our concern.

Being the 2nd most watched TV station in the market is not a big accomplishment when the public only has a handful to choose from in the first place. Can't you make any comment without trying to toot your own horn or compete for ratings? Global warming comments have really put everyone to sleep on this blog if you havn't noticed from the lack of participation from other bloggers.

Obviously caveman lives in a cave and/or doesn't understand the word PROMOTION. Since he mentioned Ch. 4, has anyone not noticed their newest promo touting how they are the highest rated newscast in America? What shameful self promotion! How dare they toot their own horn? Of all the rudeness! C'mon caveman, get a life. The lack of participation as you call it began when we forced bloggers to log in. That eliminated 98% of the nasty comments that just showed the ignorance of the blogger. I like this new system.
