Fay is Weakening, barely moving...

Satellite and radar loops continue to show very little movement of Fay tonight. Since more than 1/2 of the system is over land, it is obvious that Fay is slowly losing her punch. The more of her that gets over land tonight, the weaker she should get. IF she follows most computer models that keep her inland or hugging the Florida coast as she drifts westward, it will be difficult for Fay to regain much intensity. However, IF she would go farther offshore over the northern Gulf as she heads our way, Fay could grow stronger and bring her winds and rain to us by late Sunday. That scenario appears to be unlikely, but Fay has confused the modelers so we need to pay attention until we're sure Fay stays to our north. This slow moving storm has been a prolific rain producer and that's likely to continue as there is nothing in the next 3-5 days that appears likely to speed up her movement. I have been asked many times today..."where do you think Fay will go?" My answer..."it's difficult to say where she's going until she starts going somewhere." Tonight, moving 2 mph, she still is not going.
