As we head to the end of October, each new front seems to be a little stronger dropping night time temperatures into the 40s on the northshore requiring sweaters and jackets until the sun warm things back up during daytime heating. Our next front arrives late Thursday into Friday with an even stronger front coming early next week. That front may bring enough cold air to drop lows into the 30s on the Northshore! It goes without saying, this colder air is lowering the water temperatures in the Gulf ending the 2008 Hurricane Season in our part of the Gulf. There is nothing in the long term guidance that indicates any tropical systems coming into the Northern Gulf. There is an area of low pressure over the Western Caribbean that might slowly develop, but the strong SW wind shear over it would carry it far to our south and east. South Florida could receive some impacts from this system IF it develops.
I have been dealing with some family issues (death & illnesses) lately so you will not see me on FOX 8 until October 28th.
