In my nearly 40 years of tracking hurricanes, I have seen many rapid intensifications but never such a rapid demise (Cat 4 to a TD) in less than 24 hours. Amazing what upper wind shear can do to a storm.
All signs still indicate a deep trough will develop over the eastern U.S. and that will bring down a frigid airmass from Canada right down to the Gulf Coast. It appears that the Northshore will see a light freeze Sunday & Monday mornings with the Southshore getting into the upper 30's. Things are shaping up to be one of the coldest winters in many years. Now is the time to get your house and yard ready for freezing temperatures. Will update as the chill gets closer.

Well its about time...how many times does a storm just blossom overnight from a Cat 1 to a Cat 4...just to have the global warming pundants screaming. Now that we have the exact opposite and where are they now...it was amazing to see it demish quickly, but it is November..right!
Thanks for the update on the cold weather, I like reading your blog as you give us the extended outlook on the weather...
Christmas lights are going up soon.....woohooo
