There are some days when you just don't want to get outa bed. Thursday will be one of them as we're expecting all day rains, heavy at times (NWS has Flood Watch up for 2-4"), cool temps (50s) and gusty winds...a raw day. Friday will be better, especially in the afternoon with highs lower 60s. Saturday and Sunday will be Sunny, dry but chilly with highs in the 50s. Another system will bring back rain chances late Monday into early Tuesday ending BEFORE the big Saint's Victory parade!
We are slowly getting our graphics back to the FOX8live.com web site. Hopefully I'll have them up and running on my site shortly. thanks for your patience as this transition to 2 new HD graphic systems has been very difficult for this old man. Thank goodness for Kim Vaughn spoon feeding me on learning the new stuff.

Yes Bob, you are right, didn't want to get out of bed this morning. It is one miserable day but who cares, we are IN THE SUPERBOWL.... By the way, loved your beach gear that you wore on your broadcast last night. Getting into the groove early seems like the thing to do here in the BIG EASY. I'll bet we have more people in New Orleans than in Miami by the time it's all said and done.
There will be nothing to enjoy about today's weather. The perfect word to describe today's weather is "nasty". Temperatures will be stuck in the upper 40's to lower 50's, it will be raining the majority of today, and it will be somewhat blustery. You can thank the massive upper level circulation embedded in the Sub-Tropical Jet stream and associated Surface Low that is traversing the Gulf of Mexico for today's rain. Expect this rain to continue for the majority of today and into tonight, although there could be a break or two during this time frame.
There will be some periods of heavy rain today; this has triggered the issuance of a flood watch for our area. I expect widespread totals of 1.5-3.0 inches of rain to fall across our area today and tonight with isolated totals of 4 inches possible. The good news is that I do not see a big flood threat because most of the rain that will fall will be light to moderate the majority of the time so the pumps should be able to keep up with whatever heavy rainfall periods we experience.
The rain will begin to taper off after midnight and should be completely out of our area by noon Friday as drier air begins to advect into the area. Saturday and Super Bowl Sunday will be mostly sunny but Chilly. Highs will be in the 50's and Lows will be in the 30's and 40's. Our next weather maker will move into our area on Monday.
