Coldest March...Not Quite.

Yesterday I mentioned that we have not had an 80 degree day so far this March. Is that unusual? Ya betcha! In fact every March between 1970 and 2001 had at least one 80 degree day. The last March without an 80 was 2003. With 7 days left, out best opportunity will come on Sunday behind a cold front. IF we clear out early Sunday, west winds behind the front along with much drier air could allow us to reach 80. Looking into next week, I see no day above 80 until we get into April.

In the short term, a cold front will push across our state during the day Thursday. Showers ahead of it may make for a wet morning drive time. Most showers should be to our north and east by noon time with drier air(73-77) filtering in during the afternoon. Friday looks sunny but cooler(67-71) with north winds. Saturday will be warmer (73-77) with some shower after dark. A cold front sweeps thru bringing clearing skies for Sunday.

Nevermind... We hit 80 today, sooner than anyone thought. I suppose that it had to happen eventually. Just goes to show you what that higher sun-angle is capable of doing.
